Welcome to Greyhound Design!

Thanks for choosing a locally owned and operated web development firm. I look forward to discussing your project with you.

Just a bit of personal background on myself and Greyhound Design. My name is Sebastian Sears but I go by “Bass” Sears. I grew up in Boston and New York but have lived in the Wood River Valley for over twenty years. I graduated from Columbia University in 1993 with a B.A. in Computer Science. My technology strengths include backend development using custom written code; that's what they taught me way back when! I have owned and operated Greyhound Design for eight years and, having no employees, I do all of my own development. Greyhound Design was born from a love of technology but also from years of helping friends with a website here or a backend web development project there. Since then, it has grown in part from the desire to help others avoid the hassles and confusion that developing a website seems to engender these days.

The name Greyhound Design suggests speed and efficiency and while those are two things I guarantee in my work, the name of my firm is really in honor of a favorite camp on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.

During college I spent my summers in Idaho guiding six day river trips in the Frank Church Wilderness on the Middle Fork of the Salmon. I made the Wood River Valley my home after college, continuing to guide as well as working for a small software startup. I eventually started my own technical recruiting firm placing software & hardware engineers at technology companies in Silicon Valley. When the internet bubble burst and business slowed I had time to pursue a personal interest as a volunteer firefighter. Today I also hold a full time position as firefighter and paramedic with Wood River Fire & Rescue in Hailey.

I live in Hailey with my lovely wife and our yellow lab. When we are not working, we are skiing, mountain biking, taking pictures or sailing. I enjoy what I do and where I live and this shows in the quality of my work and commitment to my clients.
